Most of what we can bring in is listed on this page. We do not hold it on the shelf. We order yours in when you buy it, and it is normally here in one business day, at a price quoted before you commit.
- Two families cover almost everything. Eagle F1 for the road, Wrangler for everything else. Every pattern below has its own page.
- Cannot find your size or model? Ask. Sometimes we can get it and it is simply not listed yet, and sometimes we cannot. We will tell you which.
- Over 600 original equipment approvals from more than 30 vehicle manufacturers. That is the number worth knowing about Goodyear.
- The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 averages third across roughly 32 independent tests, with eight outright wins.
- Ratings change with the size, not just the pattern. Read the label for the size you are buying.
- Five families, not two. Eagle F1, EfficientGrip, Assurance and ElectricDrive on the road, and nine Wrangler patterns off it.
Ordered in, not stocked, and why that is the better deal
The Goodyears listed here are not sitting on our shelf. They sit with the distributor, and we bring one in when you buy it, normally in one business day.
That is also why the range on this page is the range it is. It is what we can actually get, not everything Goodyear makes. You are not paying for a warehouse full of sizes that are not yours, and you are not being steered onto the nearest thing in stock because it happens to be there.
The Goodyear patterns we can bring in
Each of these has its own page with the sizes, the grades and what it is actually good at. Start here if you know roughly what you want and need to narrow it down.
Eagle F1, the performance road tyres
Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6
The flagship, and the most independently tested tyre Goodyear makes. Fast road cars and hot hatches, 19 to 22 inch.
Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 SUV
The same tyre re-engineered for the weight and height of a performance SUV. The older Asymmetric SUV and Asymmetric 3 SUV are still around in some sizes if that is what your car came on.
Eagle F1 SuperSport
An ultra high performance tyre for high powered cars. A rigid HighForce sidewall and a closed outer shoulder for dry cornering.
EfficientGrip, Assurance and ElectricDrive, the everyday road tyres
EfficientGrip Performance
The mileage and wet braking tyre rather than the fast one. The Performance 2 above it uses what Goodyear calls Mileage Plus, a more elastic tread that fractures less on rough roads, and a softer compound that bends the blocks to wipe water out. If you want a premium tyre to last, this is the family, not the Eagle F1.
EfficientGrip Performance SUV
The same idea in SUV sizes, alongside the plain EfficientGrip SUV. For a road SUV or crossover that never leaves the seal and whose owner wants tread life rather than lap times.
Assurance MaxGuard
Built around protection. Goodyear gave it 10% more tread depth than the Assurance TripleMax 2 it replaced, a tougher carcass with higher cord density against cuts and impacts, and more silica for the wet. If your roads are rough and you are tired of replacing tyres early, start here. 15 to 17 inch.
Assurance MaxGuard SUV
The SUV version, 16 to 20 inch, and the widest spread of common New Zealand SUV sizes in the whole Goodyear range. If you drive a RAV4, a CX-5, an Outlander or an X-Trail, this is the one to ask about first.
ElectricDrive
For mid to high end electric sedans and SUVs. A compound for the grip an EV needs under instant torque and heavy regen, a closed tread to protect rolling resistance and range, and a pattern shaped to keep cabin noise down. There is an ElectricDrive Asymmetric 6 above it.
Wrangler, the 4WD side
Nine patterns, which is exactly why it is easy to buy the wrong one. They line up by how far off the seal you actually go.
Wrangler Territory H/T
Highway. Reinforced construction and a lower rolling resistance compound, and the tyre Ford selects from the factory on the Ranger and the Everest in Asian markets. If your ute lives on seal, stop here.
Wrangler Territory A/T S
All terrain. Large interlocking blocks and wide water grooves, on a compound Goodyear developed in Australia for all-weather traction. The locally tuned one.
Wrangler SilentTrac A/T
All terrain, quiet. DuraWall sidewalls against cuts and punctures, with the traction blocks angled and a thicker layer under the tread specifically to keep pattern noise out of the cabin.
Wrangler TrailRunner A/T
All terrain. Large interlocking blocks, saw-tooth edges for mud and snow, multi-angle sipes. Built for tread life and low noise rather than the last percent of off-road grip. Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure sits alongside it.
Wrangler DuraTrac RT
Rugged terrain. Tri-Shield sidewalls against penetration and abrasion, DuraEdge protection against rock, side biters for traction and a rim protector. Close to mud-terrain toughness that you can still live with on the road. 16 to 20 inch.
Wrangler Boulder M/T
Mud terrain. Three ply Duraply sidewall and tread protection, large void tread with stone ejectors, aggressive side biters for mud, sand and rock. Wrangler Territory M/T is the other one. 15 to 17 inch.
If you are still not sure where you sit, this is the whole decision in four lines:
| What the vehicle actually does | The Wrangler |
|---|---|
| Mostly seal, maybe a gravel driveway | Territory H/T |
| Seal, plus gravel roads and farm tracks | Territory A/T S, SilentTrac A/T or TrailRunner A/T |
| Harder mixed use, towing, weight on the back | DuraTrac RT |
| Real mud, and you know you mean it | Boulder M/T or Territory M/T |
Chosen by the people who build the cars
Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Land Rover, McLaren, Mercedes, Nissan, Porsche, Tesla, Volkswagen and Volvo are all on that list.
Original equipment is a bigger deal than the phrase makes it sound. A car maker does not pick a tyre off a shelf. It writes a specification, and the tyre is developed and signed off against that one car before a single one is sold. When you see a marking on the sidewall, a star for BMW or AO for Audi or MO for Mercedes, that tyre had to satisfy someone with far more test equipment than any review site owns.
If your car came on a marked tyre, it is usually worth going back to the same marking. We can check that for you off the size and the make.
What the independent tests say, including the bad bit
The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 has been through roughly 32 independent tests. It has won eight of them outright and averages a finish of third. For a tyre that turns up in every comparison test worth running, third on average is a stronger result than a single win against a soft field. Auto Bild's 2025 test gave it the win in 225/40R18 and measured 54,020 km of tread life, the best in that test.
It is not flawless, and you should hear that here rather than find it later. It dropped to sixth of nine in the Auto Express 2025 summer test, and straight-line aquaplaning is its recurring soft spot, swinging from class-leading to last depending on the test.
Two things people get wrong about Goodyear
Dunlop is not Goodyear any more
Goodyear sold the Dunlop brand rights for Europe, North America and Oceania to Sumitomo Rubber, completed 7 May 2025. In New Zealand, Dunlop is a Sumitomo brand now. If somebody offers you a Dunlop as "the same thing as a Goodyear", it is not. Cooper went the other way: Goodyear bought it in 2021, so Cooper is now a Goodyear brand and Dunlop is not.
Where it was made depends on the size
Goodyear runs around 49 plants across 22 countries, and the same pattern in two sizes can come from two continents. The tyre tells you: the DOT code moulded into the sidewall names the plant. Send us a sidewall photo and we will read it.
Cannot see what you need?
Send us four numbers off the sidewall, or a photo of it. We will tell you whether we can get it, what it costs, and which tyre in the range we would actually put on your vehicle.
Every tyre is priced two ways, tyre only or fitted and balanced. You choose at the cart.
Are Goodyear tyres any good?
How long does it actually take to get one in?
Do you have to fit them, or can I take them away?
Is a Goodyear worth it over the tyres you stock?
Which Goodyear Wrangler do I need?
Was Goodyear started by Charles Goodyear?
What does an OE marking on a Goodyear sidewall mean?
Is Dunlop still a Goodyear brand?
